A brief summary from BookLook Bloggers:
Bessie Randall had no intention of moving to Wyoming. But could the life she would never choose be better than the one she had planned?

Bessie is shocked when she finds out that her sister Lenore has used her name to correspond with a soldier she’s never met—and that she’s actually married the man by proxy with Bessie’s name. And if Bessie contests it, her sister could go to jail for forgery. Bessie has always felt responsible for her younger sister, and she believes she has no choice but to do the honorable thing and travel west to meet up with Jasper Mendenhall.

With his sister Jessica’s reprimand about marrying sight-unseen still ringing in his ears, Jasper is shocked when he meets the stagecoach. The little wren who meets him is not the beauty whose picture he holds in his hand. Jasper plans to annul the marriage and send Bessie back to Boston. She’s a city girl and he’s not sure she could even survive—much less be happy—at Fort Bowie.

But Jasper’s orders to return to Fort Bowie are moved up, and he has no choice but to take Bessie with him. To his surprise, he finds much to like in the quiet young woman: things like humor and grit. But even those qualities may not be enough as the Apaches move in, determined to eradicate the fort in their midst. Can God mend their hearts together in spite of the circumstances?

My Thoughts:
Boasting a stunning new cover, Colleen Coble’s reprint of To Love a Stranger is a delightful historical tale, just shy of 200 pages, making for a quick and easy read. Be warned though – don’t start reading this right before bed, otherwise you’ll be like me and stay up until 2am in order to finish reading all the way through!! *Thank goodness for shots of espresso!!* To Love a Stranger is the 4th book in Coble’s Wyoming Series, but don’t fret! This book is great as a stand-alone!

I found this book to be rather intriguing. Our heroine, Bessie Randall, learns that her younger sister, Lenore, has stolen her name while corresponding with a man across the wilds of America. To make matters worse – Lenore signed the marriage certificate as Bessie. When Bessie learns of her sister’s deceit, she takes it upon herself to honor the commitment and travels to Utah to meet her husband, Jasper Mendenhall, who is less than thrilled when he learns he was duped.  The drama that ensues while Bessie and Jasper get to know one another is rather entertaining and this story moves at a very quick pace, which I really enjoyed.

Overall, To Love a Stranger is a super cute read and I think I’ll go check out the rest of the books in this series! If you’ve never read any of Colleen Coble’s works then hurry!!! Add her to your TBR list!! She’s a wonderful mystery and romance writer. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all

I was graciously provided a free copy of this novel from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.  I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
