A brief summary from Kristi Ann Hunter:
Lady Georgina Hawthorne has worked tirelessly to seal her place as the Incomparable for her debut season. At her first London ball, she hopes to snag the attention of an earl.

With money and business connections, but without impeccable bloodlines, Colin McCrae is invited everywhere but accepted nowhere. When he first encounters the fashionable Lady Georgina, he’s irritated by his attraction to a woman who concerns herself only with status and appearance.

What Colin doesn’t know is that Georgina’s desperate social aspirations are driven by the shameful secret she harbors. Association with Colin McCrae is not part of Georgina’s plan, but as their paths continue to cross, they both must decide if the realization of their dreams is worth the sacrifices they must make.

My Thoughts:
Lady Georgina Hawthorne: gorgeous, flawless, fashionista. The debutante socialite in search of status. The woman always in white. The character I loved to hate.

Well, at least I sort of hated her in A Noble Masquerade for her ruthless and unkind actions toward her older sister, Miranda, but upon reading An Elegant Façade it becomes clear that she isn’t to be hated at all. She’s cleverly misunderstood and deceptive in order to hide a massive secret that no one, save her handmaiden, knows. A secret that would ruin her if anyone finds out. So, Georgina hides behind a façade of white and demanding naiveté, focusing all her energy on finding a suitor from wealth.

Wealth born from deep pockets and generations of breeding. The kind of wealth that Colin McCrae, the ever-present, deliciously handsome thorn in Georgina’s side, does not possess no matter how business savvy he may be. If you are a lover of romance, the will they/won’t they throughout the novel will draw you in. Its wonderful! 🙂

I really, really, reallllllly enjoyed reading An Elegant Façade!! I normally find that sequels leave me wanting more depth and better character development, but Kristi was brilliant with her characters and plot. Now, if only it was January 2017 so that I could read the 3rd novel in the Hawthorne House series!

I was graciously provided a free copy of this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
