I love Christmas. L-O-V-E!!!
It is the best, most wonderful time of the year in my opinion. I love the holiday so much that I start celebrating months in advanced. Yes, I am that person listening to Christmas carols at the start of football season. 🙂 I just can’t get enough!!
But, as much as I love everything that encompasses the day, its easy to be distracted by all the tinsel and twinkly lights strung around the tree. All that sparkle, and for what? If not for the birth of Jesus, would we even have Christmas today? Would there be a reason to celebrate the gifts of redemption, salvation, and grace that God bestowed upon the world? Ace Collins opens this Christ-filled Christmas devotional with these kind of poignant, thought-provoking questions.
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year hosts 31 meaningful devotionals to reflect upon during the holiday season. In addition to each devotional, each chapter discusses the history of famous Christmas carols, and holds fun-filled recipes or craft projects for you and your family and friends to enjoy. Collins offers numerous suggestions and joyous activities to do while spending quality time together, from singing Jingle Bells to drinking Gingerbread Hot Chocolate to making Lavender Lemon Soap – this devotional is fit for the whole family!
I’m really excited to re-read this devotional come December! I think it will be a great way to refocus on the true meaning of Christmas, and enjoy the holiday season with some homemade goodies. 🙂
