A brief summary from Tyndale:
Knowing Jesus is like no other relationship you’ve ever experienced.
Cheerful artwork with a modern whimsical style wraps around honest, easy-to-understand answers to your toughest questions about the Savior, his invitation to salvation, and the assurance that God really does hear our prayers. Can I Really Know Jesus?will inspire and offer comfort as you grow closer to God and gain a better understanding of why he sent his Son to earth, what it means to have salvation, and how prayer can deeply impact your life. Also serves as a heartfelt gift of love and promise to those who are considering faith or are new believers.
Do you have questions about Jesus and who He truly is? Or, wonder what exactly is salvation? And what’s up with the whole “prayer” thing? Do you really need forgiveness if you’re a good person?
Can I Really Know Jesus? seeks to answer these questions, and many others, in a modern, easily stated way for believers and unbelievers alike. Broken into 3 sections (Q+A About Jesus, Q+A About Salvation, and Q+A About Prayer), this book asks questions that anyone who is introduced to Jesus might ask. Questions like:
- Can I really know Jesus?
- Why did Jesus have to die?
- How do I receive God’s forgiveness?
- What exactly is “prayer”?
Each of these questions is followed by honest and thoughtful responses, as well as a scripture verses that relate to each prompt.
I found the book to be quite refreshing in its simplistic nature of describing the different aspects of Christianity. It was not overwhelming with information or filled with the numerous, differing theological POVs, but instead focused on the very core nature of what it means to follow Christ. I think this would be an exceptional read for someone who is searching for Jesus, is a new Christian, or even someone (like myself) who has been a life-long Christian and is looking to refocus on what the true meaning behind being a follower of Jesus is.
I was graciously provided a free copy of this novel from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
