A brief summary from Irene Hannon:
After a disastrous Middle East mission ends his six-year Army Ranger career, Finn McGregor needs some downtime. A peaceful month in the woods sounds like the perfect way to decompress. But peace isn’t on the agenda once he crosses paths with publishing executive Dana Lewis, a neighbor who is nursing wounds of her own. Someone seems bent on disrupting her stay in the lakeside cabin she inherited from her grandfather. As Finn and Dana work together to discover who is behind the disquieting pranks, the incidents begin to take on a menacing tone. And when it becomes apparent Dana’s foe may have deadly intent, Finn finds himself back in the thick of the action—ready or not.

My Thoughts:
Hiding away at her family’s quiet lakeside cabin in the woods, Dana Lewis hopes to find solace and rest after a brutal incident that left her body and spirit broken. But peace eludes her when someone or something keeps tampering with her property. Things appear dire until Dana’s extremely handsome ex-Army Ranger neighbor steps in to help her investigate the strange happenings on her property.

Finn McGregor expected a peaceful month in the woods, with abounding free-time to read, relax, and re-focus on the next stage of his life. That dream is soon shattered when a scream pierces the dark of night and leads him to his gorgeous neighbor’s side. Determined to prove to Dana, and himself, that he is more than the sum of his past, Finn sleuths around Dana’s land to find the menaces who won’t leave her alone. But when things turn deadly, can Finn’s Army training be able to keep them alive?

Irene Hannon writes an intriguing, mysterious plot that will keep readers questioning “why” until the very end. This is a perfect read for all you suspense lovers out there. 🙂
